Built in 1963, The New American Remodel 2022 (TNAR) is a shining example of true mid-century modern architecture. And it stayed that way after the remodel, yet all modern-day needs are met.

It’s a result of a careful and artful balance by remodeler Eric Gray of Designer Trade Services, architect Phil Kean of Phil Kean Design Group, and interior designer Sam Ewing of Ewing Noble & Winn.

The home features more than 2,000 new square feet of living space—nearly double the original number—spanning across main home additions and a newly constructed backyard ADU. New additions help maximize functionality, with a state-of-the-art gym, expanded primary suite, and central great room, butler’s pantry, outdoor kitchen, and more. The home’s eye-catching geometry, original details, and time-appropriate interior design live next to advanced home automation tech, modern mechanicals, and high-performance systems.

In an upcoming webinar on March 16, the TNAR team will sit down to share their expert insights into the design, the challenges they faced and the solutions used, and how they carefully balanced modern amenities with a period look.
