On starting a business: Avoid winging it. It’s key to recognize that you don’t have to have all the answers, and that there are people out there who you can learn from and who are willing to teach you. When I started Simply Sold, I was figuring out on the fly what worked, what didn’t, and what I wanted my company to look like, but you can only wing it for awhile before it becomes a snowball effect. Look for a mentor, consider hiring a business coach, and surround yourself with people who complement the areas where you may not be as strong or knowledgeable.
