Best Practice: As a super-organized GM who loves to regularly analyze her company’s processes, Guido uses weekly production meetings to ask pointed questions about project status, scheduling, and next steps. All action items from those meetings are entered into Buildertrend construction management software so Guido can take a historical view of past meetings and use that data to identify any recurring problems. She can then mobilize her team to implement process improvements. For example, Guido noticed clients were asking questions about items that are, in fact, clearly outlined in the scope of work agreement, indicating a communication breakdown. The fix? Two additional steps: ensure all clients thoroughly review the contract at time of signing, and have all production managers go through the contract in detail to outline what to expect and to catch questions before the job starts.
