Between new codes and new employees, your crews likely will have code questions. If a current code book is on site, they are more likely to look up the answer instead of working from memory, or worse, ignorance. The project plans should note which codes to follow.
Two especially helpful books are 2000 International Residential Code (Soft Cover), IRC and Code Highlights and Code Check: A Field Guide to Building a Safe House (The Taunton Press, 800/888-8286), an illustrated guide to the most common job-site code issues.
