Housing starts have rebounded to an annual rate of 1.093 million for a 15.7 percent increase after a drab report in June. The NAHB reports that the substantial June dip was caused by a sharp fall in single-family construction in the south as it increased by 8.3 percent in every other region combined. The report shows that multifamily starts were a main player in the boost, numbering at 437,000, the highest since February 2006.
