Test How Well Your Peel-and-Stick Membranes Seal Nails

The test that self-sealing waterproofing membranes are required to undergo is pretty tough to pass, says contractor and blogger Matt Risinger.

Together with Beth Anne Feero of the J.J. Pickle Research Campus, Risinger tests several membranes to see how well they seal water. They found that, though most manufacturers claim to have passed this test, only one product was able to seal nails penetrations.
