Marketing: Use Social Media to Outrank Your Bad Reviews

The best defense is a good offense when it comes to bad online reviews, according to Duct Tape Marketing.

“Pretty much anyone, for any reason, can publish indexable (sic) information about your business,” small business marketing consultant John Jantsch writes. “When someone goes and searches for your company why not work to make the first ten or twenty listings they find real estate that you control?”

One simple way to do this is increasing and refining your social media presence. Profiles on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and especially Google+ show up consistently near the top of search engine results.

“The point is not to mask shoddy work,” Jantsch writes. “It’s to make sure that one bad experience or unreasonable customer doesn’t control what the world gets to see.”
