She created the questionnaire for Match.com, which has been taken by more than 1.4 million people; she’s written six books on gender differences in the brain and the evolution and future of human sexuality, love, and marriage; and now she’s applying that knowledge of brain chemistry to the science and emotion of business leadership and innovation.

Dr. Helen Fisher, renowned author and contributor to the book, Enlightened Power: How Women are Transforming the Practice of Leadership, will headline the 2016 Women in Residential Construction conference, in September.

The conference, scheduled for Sept. 28-30, 2016, at the FireSky Resort & Spa, in Scottsdale, Ariz., will include more than 100 female executives and top managers from home building and remodeling firms across the nation. The event is hosted by Professional Remodeler magazine and its sister publication Professional Builder

Fisher’s work details several key advantages for today’s female business leaders. Women, she writes, are more likely to exhibit a cooperative spirit, greater verbal and social skills, and a gift for “reading” people, as well as patience, empathy, intuition, mental flexibility, long-term planning, creativity, poise, and imagination—traits that help to create a win-win strategy for businesses. “As the female mind becomes unleashed on our modern world,” she writes, “societies will benefit.”

“We are so excited to have Dr. Fisher as our keynote,” says Erika Taylor, chief of content for Professional Remodeler. “I had the privilege of hearing her outline ideas for her talk, and just listening to what she has planned was fascinating and inspiring.”

Dr. Fisher has written extensively on human behavior and gender differences in the brain, the evolution of human sexuality, and the future of men, women, sex, family life, and business in the 21st century. She also has served as anthropological consultant for media outlets such as NBC’s Today, Reader’s Digest, the BBC, Time-Life books, The Smithsonian Institution, Bank of America, Solomon Smith-Barney, and Fortune magazine.

The Women in Residential Construction conference will offer creative working sessions and networking receptions for female business leaders to strengthen their professional relationships.
