Outdoor Remodeling Brings More Joy

Not only do outdoor remodeling projects add resale value to a home, it turns out they also promote homeowner happiness, according to the "2016 Remodeling Impact Report: Outdoor Features" from the National Association of Realtors and the National Association of Landscape Professionals.

A new pool was the No.1 outdoor remodeling project for delivering homeowner happiness, closely followed by a landscape upgrade and a new wood deck. Most homeowners said they took on these projects to add features to their home and to improve livability.

A total of 95 percent of homeowners who completed a pool project said they had more desire to be home, and 80 percent said they experienced a greater sense of enjoyment while at home.
