After consulting with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Milwaukee Tool has expanded the warnings and instructions of its M18 High Demand 9.0 battery pack (model number 48-11-1890).
It’s a precautionary measure, not a recall, so there’s no need for anyone currently using the battery to stop using it or send in for a new one. But the warning does caution users to avoid exposing the battery pack to “corrosive or conductive fluids, such as seawater, certain industrial chemicals, and bleach or bleach containing products, etc.” Those liquids can short-circuit the battery and possibly cause fire, personal injury, or product damage.
