The goal: Satisfy the clients’ desire for contemporary, clean lines and warm colors while honoring the original character of this mid-century-style home. Achieving this required a collaborative and creative team.

The dramatic corner window (top) hearkens to design elements used elsewhere in the home. It provides nearly seamless visual access to the outdoors and creates the illusion that the 260-square-foot space is actually larger.

To further maximize floorspace, the adjacent laundry room was removed. In its place, the team enclosed a stacked washer/dryer within a closet and added a dual-purpose floating counter for kitchen and laundry tasks.
