Like many companies, we offer both a semi-custom and custom cabinetry line, with Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry being at least 15-20% more expensive than the semi-custom line. One of the big selling points for Plain & Fancy that usually wins clients over is the company’s frameless product. It’s extremely competitively priced with our semi-custom frameless model and significantly better quality.
On top of that, the company has taken note of the growing popularity of their frameless model, and quickly adjusted—every door is available on the frameless box, and specific training is offered to those installing the frameless product.
Every company has its preferred high-end cabinet manufacturer, of course, and when you get into the higher price points, quality isn’t the issue—most high-end manufacturers are using the same design standards. We’ve used other custom cabinetry lines before, but Plain & Fancy offers an unparalleled level of customer service. Knowing that your rep is there for you, and isn’t going to pop in for coffee only twice a year and call their job done is huge.
With our designers who are newer to placing cabinetry orders, Plain & Fancy plays a significant role in training and continuing to provide support when questions undoubtedly arise. Their customer service reps and field staff understand the product well, and are trained in what issues to look for in orders and finished products. There’s always an extra set of eyes on each order, at each stage.
My only request would be for a more user-friendly website and marketing plan, but in the grand scheme of things, this is a minor adjustment
