Rosser was barely 18 when he wore a borrowed suit to interview for a job as an installer at Leafguard in Seattle. “They basically said, ‘nope, you need to go over there,’” he says. “Over there” meant sales, where he worked for six years. When the general manager position opened up, he eagerly took on the new role. “I was 24, so it was probably a little earlier than I was ready for,” he says. It was trial by fire, but Rosser says that really gave him the opportunity to grow as a leader.
Motivation: “I’m very passionate about our industry,” Rosser says. He wants to help people reach places they never believed they could. “Having come from nowhere myself, I know the potential this industry has for people who usually get passed up or don’t believe in themselves.”
Leadership: “My credo is to have employees for life,” he says. “My team would say I’m tireless and very data-driven, but I focus on the human side, too. I nurture a partnership with my team and build trust through actions.” Rosser says he allows them candor and honesty, and lets them know where opportunities exist.
Mindset: “Prioritizing health and diet has revolutionized my abilities in the workplace,” he says. “I didn’t understand who I could actually be until I made this a focus.”
