Hernandez immigrated to the U.S. from Columbia at the age of 14, and immediately found that some things transcend distance. “I love soccer, and even though I didn’t speak the language, soccer was how I was able to communicate and make friends,” he recalls. In 2021 Hernandez went into business with his father initially focusing on handyman jobs, but over time they evolved into a full-service design-build company.
Biggest Challenge: The company grew quickly, and Hernandez struggled to scale operations. That’s when he made a hugely positive move: He hired EMyth Business Coaching. They first focused on a foundation, and then went through his company department by department and helped create job descriptions, robust systems and processes, and document every detail. “It saved me a lot of time and mistakes,” Hernandez says. Two years later, and now ready for higher-level learning, he began working with Mark Richardson, an industry advisor with a stronger emphasis on strategy. “It’s been incredible, we talk about things that are geared toward a business owner in remodeling,” he says. Today, Hernandez has five team members and continues to grow. “We truly live by going the extra mile to make sure that our clients are always happy,” he says.
