Genevieve Walsh, 39
Co-Owner, Walsh’s Remodeling, Albemarle County, Va.
2025 projected revenue: $2 mil
Walsh is a born problem solver who embraces the concept of continuous improvement for herself and for her company. To that end, she is driven by a powerful desire to elevate the industry with impeccable craftsmanship and customer service. “So many clients have had bad experiences and are stressed out about hiring a contractor. I’m proud of this industry and it’s important to me to change that perception, even if we’re just a drop in the bucket,” she says.
Challenge: In 2023, the company was facing a significant production bottleneck, and Walsh and her husband Miles struggled to find, hire, and retain the right team members. At a conference hosted by the Certified Contractors Network, they connected with the XP3 Talent System and Leadership Academy. “They have a great hiring process that really helped us,” she says. “We were able to add on production staff and an administrative assistant.”
Ten-Year Vision: Walsh hopes that she and Miles can expand the company enough to “stop wearing so many hats” and focus more on long-term business strategy. Alongside that is a deep desire to increase the company’s already considerable commitment to the community. “We believe in giving back. It’s so important
to me,” she says.
