Mark Kissel, 32
Home Consultant, Mosby Building Arts, St. Louis
Kissel credits the support and mentorship of the Mosby team for his successful transition from the hospitality services industry to a design-build career. He’s enjoyed every step along the way, even amid the recent challenges of encountering a new type of post pandemic client—one who has more options, more distractions, and more apprehension. In turn, Kissel discovered he needed to make an adjustment and learn to slow down and seek real opportunity with each client.
What’s the “Core Project?” Kissel notes the Mosby team developed an innovative concept to advance the sales process, reposition the client’s vision, and discover what they’ve coined the “core project.” “In place of a larger conversation about all the things a client hopes to accomplish in their home, we try to begin with, ‘Take me back to the moment when you decided that something must be done here,’” Kissel says. “’What was happening in your house at the time? What was that starting place? What was the must-do part that sent you in pursuit of a remodeling partner?’”
When a client starts there, Kissel and team are better able to help make the their dream into a reality.
For Fun: Kissel loves spending time with his wife and two daughters and playing racquetball.
