Perez joined the sales team in 2022, was named salesperson of the year in 2023, and then promoted to sales manager in 2024. “I’m really proud of earning this promotion,” he says. “I have the opportunity to pour into my team the same way my mentors have poured into me. Guiding and supporting my team…it’s been incredibly rewarding to see them succeed.”
Biggest Challenge: “A big issue was hiring out of necessity, not for the right fit,” Perez says. And onboarding was limited. Now, it’s a robust, multi-day process. “You’re doing a ride along with production, you’re hanging out with admin for a while, you’re working with marketing and installers to see how all those different people, all those different departments come together.” Under his leadership, the sales team has nearly doubled in size, average ticket is up 40%, and total volume is up more than 6%.
Simple But Effective: Perez introduced critical tech upgrades, such as ride-along and presentation software. He also added pre-fab patio covers to the product mix, which quickly gained traction and significantly boosted sales. “As a manager, I’ve had to shift my mindset from just closing deals to thinking about how we scale and grow long-term. I’m thinking bigger picture.”
