Sabre Smoothing Blades

Working in drywall, a good smoothing blade is essential when trying to get a nice, smooth finish. Columbia just came out with a new line of smoothing blades called Sabre, and I love them. They’re a little less expensive than their pro line, so that’s really good.

Smoothing blades have gotten very popular, and for good reason. They’re easy to use and they create a fantastic finish.

The Sabre line has a stainless-steel blade attached to a handle that allows you to smooth out large areas. They come in a variety of sizes. A 24-inch blade is the most common andversatile size. You can do a lot with a 12-inch blade as well, especially corner beams and columns.

You can also cut edges with this—it totally works. If yourblade gets all bent and funky, don’ t worry. The Sabre blades are replaceable.

These blades are great for going over existing textures and are very versatile in their use, which is why I think they’ve gotten so popular. It really is endless the things you can do with them.

If you’re doing a lot of remodel work, texture removal, or skimming textures, I cannot recommend these blades enough.
