On marketing: A few years ago we redid our website and I’m proud of the result. We wanted to focus more on establishing that a client will have the best experience with us, and we now have higher conversions from the site. We do this with our Project Stories. People like to receive information in different ways, so if you click on a Project Story, you’ll see written copy, before-and-after pictures, renderings, and maybe a video with the client. It’s a high level view of what it’s like to do a remodel with us.
Clients call in already confident about the process because they’ve heard other clients tell them about it. We also wanted a bigger internet presence in general. We’d always had great referrals, but felt there was more market share to capture. Starting in 2015 or so, when people search on Google, they are pointed to the maps. And if you had more reviews, clients were going there to find you. If a review is well written, people think of it almost like they’re talking to a friend or neighbor who’s hired you. So, in the same way that our website now focuses on client experience, we made sure to get a bunch of Google reviews. It’s helped us widen our net on the front end to capture great clients who might search in different ways. Some people start by asking friends, while many others turn to Google reviews right away. Since making Google a focus, it’s become our number one source for bringing in clients.
