Industry Trend Watch: We’re seeing residential remodeling take note from commercial construction and use certain types of software as a selling point with clients. It’s great to be able to submit bids efficiently, let clients track their projects in real time, keep materials selections in one place, and get change orders signed quickly. I think all residential clients will soon see this as the new normal. I’ve also noticed a lot of tradespeople turning to social media for learning new techniques. There are a lot of pros posting photos and videos, and it’s great to see the skill levels of my employees and subs improve with the knowledge they gain on those platforms. I personally taught myself from YouTube how to rebuild the engine of one of my vintage cars. It’s a great way to learn.
