Lowe's Launches Virtual Platform to Keep Pros Working

In the first step of Lowe’s $25 million commitment to support small businesses, the company is launching a free, augmented video chat service to help Pros manage jobs, without being on the job

By By James F. McClister June 10, 2020

To kick off a promised $25 million commitment to support small businesses, Lowe’s has introduced Lowe’s for Pros JobSIGHT, an augmented video chat service powered by Streem that enables industry professionals to virtually interact with staff and homeowners.

Designed to be as accessible as possible, the service is easily accessible through a web browser, even on mobile phones, and combines video, computer, and augmented reality (AR) capabilities to enhance the functionality of virtual visits. Pros can easily check serial numbers, product details, and place orders then and there, while also using an on-screen laser pointer and AR-quick draw tools to have a meaningful consultation with a homeowner in lieu of an in-person initial visit. Furthermore, the app produces a one-page summary of the interaction including full video and audio, photos, and follow-up needs that can be sent to the client.

From now until October 31, Lowe’s for Pros Loyalty Program members can access the program for free by visiting LowesForPros.com/ProLoyalty. Through the end of October, pros will save 5% on eligible purchases and receive zero interest for 60 days when using a Lowe’s Business Account or extended terms when using a Lowe’s Accounts Receivable.

“We rely on Pros now more than ever to keep our homes and businesses safely up and running, which is why we are working hard to build new ways to keep Pros working and to be the new home for Pros both now and into the future,” said Fred Stokes, senior vice president of Pro Sales and Services for Lowe’s. “(The) announcement with Streem is just the first of many ways we will provide Pros new and innovative options to connect with their customers while social distancing. We will continue to invest in expanded Pro product offerings and prioritize services and partnerships to help run and grow their businesses.”
