Project Trend Watch: We’re seeing smaller spaces and more intimately designed homes. What I think it comes down to is a higher number of people working to simplify their lifestyles. Younger age groups, and millennials in particular, differ from their parents and grandparents in that they’d rather spend money on experiencing life instead of upgrading or changing their homes. A house becomes a home base, and when you’re working with clients with that mentality, the need for larger spaces becomes significantly diminished.
