Where We’re Innovating: We’re a high-quality cabinet shop, and the business is shifting hard. Cheaper imports, the labor shortage, and crazy materials costs are all problems. Also, customers today are buying low- to mid-range cabinetry and spending money elsewhere. Better paint has helped disguise cheaper cabinets, and design trends are moving away from detail in the kitchen. The look is more sleek. So, 18 months ago, we started a remodeling division, and it’s been going well. Most of the contractors in our area are doing new construction, and it’s left a hole in the market for remodeling.
