1. Alside

ASCEND by Alside, a composite cladding system, is available in 20 fade-resistant colors, combines beauty, simple installation and low installation costs to create value for builders, installers and remodelers. Glass fibers add strength while the composite materials produce a lightweight for simple installation. The cladding requires no sealing, touch-up paint, joint flashing or caulking.

2. Benjamin Obdyke

Benjamin Obdyke has combined its HydroGap drainable housewrap and an air-sealing adhesive backing with the introduction of HydroGap SA, a self-adhered drainable weather-resistive barrier (WRB). Suitable for all climates, the UV-resistant HydroGap SA features 100% continuous acrylic adhesive, providing sealing around cladding fasteners. HydroGap SA can be installed in temperatures as low as 25 degrees Fahrenheit without primer and boasts a 96% drain efficiency. 

3. Barricade

Barricade Thermo-Brace S.I.B., a 4-in-1 reversible structural insulative sheathing, has an energy-efficient insulative barrier composed of BASF Neopor GPS insulative foam. The panels offer a tight, secure install for those who rely on lightweight, high-performance material. With Safe-Reflective Facer (WRB), the Thermo-Braci S.I.B. avoids overheating vinyl. Sheathing comes in three standard sizes and custom options.

4. Beach House Shake

An affordable alternative to cedar shakes, the Beach House Shake is a polymer shake approved by Florida’s Miami-Dade County for High-Velocity Hurricane Zones. The shakes come in lightweight panels, making installation fast and easy, as opposed to nailing in individual cedar shingles that can split and require ongoing care. Because the Beach House Shake is moisture resistant, it will not split, fade or crack when exposed to harsh climates. 

5. Daltile

Daltile’s Tread line features 2cm outdoor porcelain pavers in wood, quartzite, assorted stone, slate, French limestone and Belgian bluestone looks. These pavers resist stains, fading, scratches, fire and slips. The line consists of six collections: Assemble, a contemporary stone-look paver (shown) and Commissary, a natural wood-look paver, plus existing porcelain pavers that are now part of the Tread line: Ambassador, Diplomacy, Delegate and Dignitary.

6. TandoStone

TandoStone is a composite stone that is an affordable alternative to natural stone. Fit for extreme weather, TandoStone products resist moisture, insects, decay, and rot, while standing up to salt spray, storms, humidity, snow, and sun. Despite the easy install, TandoStone has a realistic, gritty texture suitable for foundation walls and accent details. With a lightweight design, a single contractor can install it.

7. JH Wall Paints

JH Wall Paints has released a toxin-free, handmade lime wash that can add character to both interior and exterior remodels. What sets JH Wall Paints apart from the others is its natural, zero-VOC formula. JH uses natural earth powder pigments that result in a matte finish that is fade, peel, and crack resistant. Over time, the paint will develop a soft patina. Lime Wall Paint can last for over 10 years without a refresh. There are 65 colors available.

8. LP

The LP WeatherLogic Air & Water Barrier is now an APA Structural I Rated wall and roof sheathing. Installed with AAMA 711-13 approved acrylic seam and flashing tape, LP WeatherLogic Air & Water Barrier can be used with LP WeatherLogic Water Screen, which drains water from between cladding and water-resistive barriers. The LP WeatherLogic water-resistant sheathing has been rigorously tested and passes widely recognized tests for durability.

9. Owens Corning

Owens Corning chose its TruDefinition Duration shingle in aged copper as its 2021 Shingle Color of the Year. By blending orange, sage, and brown, the company designed the shingle to combine minimalist shades and stronger hues for a warm, balanced look. Real copper granules are mixed in to provide algae resistance for 10 years, and the company certifies the Duration shingles to withstand up to 130 mph winds.

10. DaVinci Roofscapes

The fourth shake profile available from DaVinci Roofscapes, Select Shake, has the genuine look of a real cedar shake. Available in eight- and 10-inch widths, each DaVinci Select Shake tile is 22-inches long and ⅝ of an inch thick. The 10-inch wide pieces have a simulated keyway to give the appearance of four- and six-inch width shakes placed together. The unique tile design allows for fast installation.

11. Valspar

With Valspar’s Metal Building Roof & Siding Finish, remodelers can restore old, weathered metal siding and roofs. Remodelers can paint the finish directly on the metal or use a primer on top of corroded metals. The water-reducible acrylic formula dries within 30-60 minutes to a long-lasting, durable, fade and chalk resistant semi-gloss finish that protects against rust. Valspar recommends two coats.

12. Versetta Stone

The mortarless Versetta Stone Ledgestone Style panels offer a traditional, dry-stack appearance with an easy installation with screws or nails. Its staggered layers and rough-cut appearance balance other exterior materials in the remodel including brick, stucco and wood. Besides reducing installer fatigue, the lightweight panels also provide durability and can withstand extreme weather. Panels come in six colors, including Northern Ash, a trendy dark gray.
