Eye-Catching Products from IBS & KBIS 2022
Earlier this month, the largest industry show, Design & Construction Week, returned in-person for the first time since pandemic shutdowns. The event welcomed more than 70,000 attendees across 725,000 square feet of exhibition space between the International Builders’ Show and the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show.
Within that exhibition space were more than 1,200 manufacturers sharing their new releases after many held off from big launches last year. Pro Remodeler caught up with designer Jacklyn Graniczny for a speedy tour of the show floor, showcasing some eye-catching releases and crowd-gathering displays.
Here are just a few of those innovations, in order of appearance:
Halo Canless Slope
Requiring no housing, the HALO Canless Slope can be ideal for projects with minimal ceiling space, says Graniczny. The product can pivot between 9 to 45 degrees and comes in 4-inch and 6-inch apertures. Halo says it’s configurable to almost any ceiling pitches. It offers light temperatures between 2700K and 5000K.
PanelPlus by Endura Products
This patented system by Endura promises to turn any door into a folding accordion door, offering that highly desired indoor-outdoor seamless connection at a more affordable price. Endura creates patented door solutions to fix common challenges. PanelPlus is only a prototype, but Endura teases that it may come to market next year.
Sean Lavin for Tech Lighting
Acrylic LED panels are a hallmark of Sean Lavin’s lighting collections, especially the showcased Nyra, which visually balances elements of technology and nature. The panels act as waves in the Nyra 60 linear suspension and flower petals in the Nyra 42 chandelier.
HarvestFresh by Beko
While humidity levels can preserve food’s freshness, Beko says light is what’s needed to be controlled to preserve food’s nutrition. That’s why its HarvestFresh feature on its new line of refrigerators mimics a 24-hour light cycle in the crisper drawers. It switches from blue to green to red, acting as dawn, midday, and dusk. Though new in the U.S., HarvestFresh has been prominent in Beko’s European releases, where the brand is one of the top appliance suppliers.
Sage finish by True Residential
True Residential’s booth featured its wide array of luxury refrigeration color combinations, including a dramatic all-black fridge and its brand new Sage finish. The brand says Sage infuses biophilic design and a sense of growth and renewal, but the hue is also reflective of several 2022 colors of the year. Graniczny also noted True’s Saffron shade, a mustard yellow, as a trending hue seen throughout the show floor.
HALO Susan by Rev-a-Shelf
LED track lights offer creative ways to add levels of functionality and luxury to a project, and now manufacturers are taking note. Rev-a-Shelf’s new HALO lazy Susan illuminates those deep corner drawers with theater-like lighting with Tresco Lighting Luniform FlexTape with 3500K, powered by a 5VDC rechargeable battery.
Statement Showering Collection, Stillness Bath by Kohler
Kohler’s new shower collection consists of two body sprays, three rainheads, one multifunction showerhead, one dual showerhead, four handshowers, and two new Anthem thermostatic controls. The idea behind the collection is to offer pros expansive options for designing the perfect shower. Statement uniquely offers global compatibility with universal valves.
The Stillness soaking tub mimics Japanese soaking tubs and its square design is meant to balance with the round interior. Throughout the year, Kohler will launch the Stillness Bath with additional features, such as lighting, an infinity bath setting, and fog.
Electronic Bidet Seat 5 Series by Moen
Compared to competitors, Moen’s bidet seats come at a smaller price tag, noted Graniczny. It’s a level up from Moen’s 3 Series bidet seat but comes with air drying features and the remote control that allows users to select actions, change temperatures, lights, and nozzle positions.
Shaws Shaker Collection by House of Rohl
Apron front fireclay kitchen sinks are nothing new, but Graniczny was drawn to the patia and metallic designs on Shaws’ Shaker sinks. The brand offers four different designs, such as the metallic lines and blue Eucalyptus designs seen in the video, for a simple yet impactful kitchen detail.
Riobel Reflet by House of Rohl
Riobel elevates the standard chrome bathroom fixtures with a waved detail, mimicking reflections in water and resulting in a fixture that offers “understated elegance,” said Grancizny. Reflet is available in four finishes—brushed chrome, brushed nickel, brushed gold, and chrome.
Classtone Collection by Neolith
Sintered stone manufacturer Neolith has been prominent in European countries, but its Classtone Collection is the first collection made solely for the North American market. The brand said that Europe is known for its neutral and contemporary fine lines, but has noticed North America’s trend for white marbles and natural stones. In addition to the focused product launch, Neolith has plans to open several distribution centers, beginning in New Jersey and Florida.
