Wayne Brockbank, a Clinical Professor of Business at the University of Michigan writes to Harvard Business Review readers that a good organization should be greater than the sum of its individuals. Hence, HR departments that emphasize talent scouting over what they do to retain and improve each individual as a whole maybe missing out on the organization’s optimization.
