Treehugger editor Derek Markham profiles the new company CloudSolar, which allows homeowners to invest in solar energy without needing to install their own panels.
With CloudSolar, participants purchase solar panels through the startup, and the company will install the panels at their solar farms. The company then sells the electricity from the panels, and sends the participant a check for the energy produced.
“Investing in solar could get a whole lot easier, and a whole lot more affordable, once this solar startup launches because it removes several of the barriers to wider adoption of this clean energy source,” Markham writes.
