Building science expert Allison Bailes shares the common problems in the construction of basements that won’t pass the blower door test required by many building codes.
These problems usually occur in the joist area above the wall, and include open-web floor trusses with no blocking, flex ducts running through the joists, and no blocking or sealing across the top of the wall.
