More than half of the respondents in a recent study of 3,000 U.S. and Canadian consumers reported having disagreements with someone who lives in their home about lighting. The study, sponsored by Philips Lighting and conducted by market research firm Vanson Bourne, found that variables such as dimming, brightness, and color were the main reasons for friction. The study also found that women have more say in home décor decisions than men (88 percent versus 72 percent).
