Trim-Tex has two rigid jumbo corner beads, one at 90 degrees, and one at 81 degrees (shown) for warped or twisted framing. They are available in a variety of sizes and are made from a vinyl material that’s light and durable.
“Old car bumpers used to be made of metal, and if there was an accident, they would crumple,” says Abe Dickison, Trim-Tex marketing strategist. “But today they’re made of plastic, which absorbs impact much better. It’s the same concept on a wall: If something hits the corner, that vinyl will absorb it.”
Vinyl corner beads are also a good choice for basements, kitchens, and bathrooms, since they won’t rust in moist conditions. The Trim-Tex corner bead can be attached to the wall using stainless steel staples, or the company also makes a mud-set bead option. All Trim-Tex corner beads are produced with more than 70 percent recycled content.
