Finding a business partner is never something you should take lightly. It’s important to get to know who you are going to work with, and understand that it may be different than any other relationship in your life.
When going into business together, you and your partner should have common values and have a good understanding of your roles within the company. There has to be alignment in goals for the future, and there should not be any red flags with figuring out responsibilities as far as what each partner can contribute.
We caught up with Zak Fleming and Marc Black, who became partners in 2018 under Fleming Construction. They merged with Remodeling Contractors in 2020. Here’s their tips for success when considering a business partner:
