I joined CRD almost 12 years ago as a carpenter’s apprentice and worked my way up to lead carpenter and then into the office as a production coordinator. I want to pay that forward so I set up an internship program and am setting up a training program now for new hires and to grow our carpenters.
Best innovation: My coordinator role was meant to link design to production, but it quickly became evident that we needed a multi-project manager system for the volume of projects we wanted in the next five years and the way the industry is going. We shifted to two project managers, a production coordinator (who is our former intern), and production manager to make it more scalable so we can go up to 20 projects with the same system and team.
