Aquatic announced the appointment of bathware, plumbing and building industry veteran, Stuart Leigh, as its president. Leigh rejoined Aquatic at the beginning of the month, bringing nearly three-and-a-half decades of highly relevant experience to the job, including a previous stint as the company's president.
"We're thrilled to have Stuart back on board at Aquatic -- he is very knowledgeable about our business including our customer base, manufacturing processes, logistics operations, distribution channels and more," said Jim Nicol, Chairman, Aquatic. "He's highly skilled at enhancing operational efficiency and helping companies achieve exponential growth. Most importantly, Stuart shares our commitment to and passion for always doing what's best for customers."
Leigh will build on the foundation laid by his predecessor, Gary Anderson, who helped navigate the company through a challenging economy and building market as well as the company merger that kept Aquatic positioned as the nation's largest provider of bathware. Leigh takes the helm as the company prepares to increase its national presence in 2014, in part, due to expansion of its relationship with a major U.S. home building retailer.
"I look forward to working with all Aquatic team members and customers to take the business to the next level -- we certainly have all of the elements for continuing success," said Stuart Leigh, President, Aquatic. "We already lead the market with a trusted brand, have identified new marketplace needs and opportunities in the coming, post-recession economy, and enjoy strong support and resources from the global group of companies that owns Aquatic."
Prior to rejoining Aquatic, Leigh held senior positions within the plumbing and bathware industry and was president of both Lasco Bathware and Aquatic Industries from April 2005 to May 2008. Holding postgraduate degrees in engineering and business management, Leigh has extensive experience in manufacturing within the USA and internationally.
