Economy: How State Unemployment Compares to the National Rate

The good news is that the U.S. unemployment rate is at a seven-year low. And more jobs mean more work for remodelers.

Additionally, there are several states where the rate is even lower than the national rate, such as Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, Texas, and Vermont. The state of Nebraska, with its unemployment rate of 2.6 percent,;is lowest in the nation and the lowest the state has seen since the summer of 1998.
