Best Practice: “People buy from people, and everyone today is looking for authenticity and personal connections,” Ferrigan says. “I view my role here [in marketing] as shining a spotlight on my colleagues.” Normandy’s website and other materials emphasize individual designers. Ferrigan placed a “Meet the Designers” tab on the navigation bar of Normandy’s website and created content that brings all 20 designers to life, including biographies, awards, and photos of their work. She also frequently mentions specific designers in the company’s blog, with links to recent projects. “Our designers are our salespeople and they form deep bonds with the homeowners,” Ferrigan says. “We celebrate them in the market as well as create a great place for them to work.”
