Home improvement retailer Home Depot confirmed that hackers have gained access to its data system earlier this year, Fortune reports.
The breach is worse than the similarly high-profile data breach attacks on national retailers this past year such as Target and Neiman Marcus. Fortune further reports that Home Depot announced customers would not be on the hook for fraudulent charges and would get free credit monitoring.
