Technology: A New 3D Printer Inspired by Terminator 2

March 18, 2015

The use of 3D printers in architecture and construction continues to grow, and along with it, the efficiency and speed of these printers.

Vox features a project done by University of North Carolina scientists who are developing a printer that uses “continuous liquid interface production,” inspired by some CGI effects in a Terminator 2 scene.

The new technology is 25 to 100 times faster than current methods and, because objects are solid rather than built up in layers, the end product is stronger.
