For many remodelers, focusing solely on client work can suck the fun out of it. This is true for many creative, client-oriented professionals.

Graphic designer Matt Owens shares his tips on how he balances work for clients – the ones who help him bring home the bacon – with projects that he does for fun.

“The way to do self-initiated projects is to treat them like client projects,” Owens says in a Lunch Talk. “You can’t treat them differently, or they become secondary or fall through the cracks.”
