The National Association of Remodeling Industry's (NARI) Board of Directors has selected Chief Operations Officer Elsie Iturralde to serve as interim CEO in the wake of the recent departure of previous CEO David Pekel.
Iturralde is known to many in the industry as NARI’s COO for more than 20 years.
Members greeted the news of Iturralde’s appointment with optimism. “Elsie knows the heartbeat of what’s going on at the level of directors,” says Dale Contant, owner of Alair Homes Marietta, in metro Atlanta. Contant has served in leadership roles with NARI at both the local and national level.
“She is a good person to fill that position,” he adds “Elsie has been a financial bedrock for our organization and is definitely qualified. She knows everybody there. There’d be no better way to manage this situation.”
The association’s strategic priorities moving forward will focus on continuing education, enhanced marketing, its accreditation programs, and additional marketing opportunities, according to NARI officials.
The nationwide search for a long-term leader will continue through a professional firm.
