The feminine counterpoint to the Man Cave continues to gain popularity as more and more women invest in small, freestanding buildings that provide a temporary respite from family obligations.
Picking up on the trend, NARI Greater Cleveland included three examples of she sheds at its home show held from Jan 21-24. The small structures were displayed in various themes including “Yoga Shed,” “The Cocktail Hour Shed” and “Reading Nook Shed.” Local companies supplied the displays. Also featured was a fourth women’s retreat completed with a suspended bed in the Outdoor Urban Living area.
“[She Sheds] are the craze right now,” said NARI board member Chris Kamis in a statement. "We will make it feminine, but not so feminine that guys won't want to go into it."
