Small-Business Optimism Peaks

Optimism is at an eight-year high, Wells Fargo survey finds

By By Professional Remodeler Staff February 6, 2017
This article first appeared in the February 2017 issue of Pro Remodeler.

Recent data show that optimism for company owners is at its highest level since January 2008. The survey of small businesses is conducted quarterly by Wells Fargo/Gallup.

The overall index score for optimism increased to 80 in November 2016, up 26 points from the previous November. This represents the highest reading since January 2008 when the Index score was 83. A major driver of the increased optimism is how business owners are feeling about the year ahead. All in all, are you more optimistic about your business’s future going into 2017 than you were going into 2016, less optimistic, or about the same?
