Do you really understand humidity? According to building science blogger Allison Bailes, even professionals often misuse terms when gauging and measuring humidity.
The three main measurements used to describe humidity are relative humidity (RH), dew point temperature, and wet bulb temperature. None of them can stand alone, because if they do, it doesn’t really say much about comfort level or the possibility of mold growth.
“If you take away one thing from this article, let it be this: Talking about relative humidity without also giving the temperature leads to confusion,” Bailes writes.
