Remodelers will find their niche at IBS in Orlando

International Builders Show
IBS/KBIS in Orlando
This article first appeared in the Sept/Oct 2021 issue of Pro Remodeler.

The National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) International Builders’ Show (IBS) wouldn’t be the premier annual residential construction show in the world without excellent remodeling education, exhibits, and networking opportunities. The remodeling industry is critically important to the construction industry, and that’s why we’ve again put a lot of programming specific to remodelers into IBS.

NAHB is excited to put on the IBS live and in-person this winter in sunny Orlando. The show will be three days of concentrated learning and connecting, February 8-10, 2022.

The 2022 show will highlight new products, innovations, and technologies. As remodelers working through more than a year of COVID uncertainty and a booming market, there are so many things to consider as you seek to improve your business and better serve your customers.

The Draw

To help you set yourself apart from other remodelers in your market and get ahead of the Pinterest curve, make sure to visit the IBS show floor to meet with top manufacturers and suppliers who will be showcasing the hottest new products and services. This is the place for remodelers to experience the products that their potential customers will be wanting in the coming year.

Remodelers who attend IBS should also experience the more than 100 education sessions taught by industry experts from across the country. These sessions provide insights into trends and technologies that are shaping the market.

IBS is also the best networking opportunity of the year, a chance to exchange ideas with other remodelers, as well as architects, manufacturers, building trades professionals … the list goes on! After a year without an in-person IBS, I know that I am looking forward to seeing my colleagues from across the industry and around the country.

There are also IBS Centrals — places to connect with like-minded individuals while you escape from the commotion of the Orlando Convention Center – focused on Remodeling, Custom Building, Design, Multifamily Housing, 55+ Housing, and Sales & Marketing. The Remodeling Central is a great place to grab a cup of coffee, rest your feet, meet others in the industry and swap lessons learned from a very unusual year. You can also take advantage of more than a dozen workshops at the Central on issues specific to the remodeling industry.

During the show, NAHB will recognize the industry’s best of the best with the NAHB Remodeler of the Year Award, the Nationals, the Best in American Living™ Awards, Global Innovation Awards, NAHB/Builders Mutual Safety Awards for Excellence, and many others.

And finally, you can be among the first to see the most forward-thinking designs and innovative new products at the IBS show homes, The New American Remodel® and The New American Home.

Opportune for First-Timers

If you are considering coming to the show for the first time, this year is a great time to do so. NAHB members who are first-time attendees are eligible for discounted all-access deals and all NAHB members can register for a free Expo Pass during the month of September. As a bonus, your IBS registration includes exhibit-floor access to the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) as part of Design & Construction Week. The co-location of the two shows expands the exhibit floor to a mega, one-stop shop dedicated to all aspects of a home’s construction and design. Registration is open. Sign up for updates and register at BuildersShow.com.

You will find your place at the IBS. Just make sure to bring your walking shoes! I look forward to seeing you in Orlando in just a few months.

You can register here for the show.
