With so many remodelers busier than they’ve been in a long time, it’s easy to let administrative procedures slip through the cracks. Protect your business as well as the interests of the industry: remember that the punch-list for each and every job on pre-1978 housing must include distribution to the client of the EPA’s lead information pamphlet.

"Protect Your Family from Lead in your Home" is available by calling the EPA at (800) 424-LEAD, and you may make copies for distribution. Don’t forget to obtain the client’s signature confirming receipt, and keep those signatures on file for three years.

For your information, or to obtain copies for your employees, a fax of the brochure "Work Clean for Your Company, Your Customers & OSHA" is available from the Council at (800) 369.5242, Ext. 216.
