Anticipating the market downtown and resultant project downsizing, Bill Bartlett, president of Atlanta design/build firm Home Rebuilders, wanted to position his company accordingly. Known for ranch conversions and other large projects, Home Rebuilders needed to be able to offer customers with smaller jobs and less money the same top service in a streamlined format. Last summer, Bartlett launched SmartPlan, a scaled-down version of the company's standard DiscoveryPlan. The new program is intended for clients who have a good idea coming into the project of their selections and finishes, and it provides the design for a fixed fee.
